A man suffered injuries to his face early Saturday after refusing to hand his wallet over to a would-be robber in downtown Davis, according to police.
Sgt. Dan Powell said the victim later sought medical aid at a Roseville hospital, telling emergency room staff he was at an unidentified bar when the suspect approached him and demanded his wallet at about 2:45 a.m. When he refused, the suspect punched him, causing a laceration to his face.
Hospital staff reported the incident to Davis police, but the victim was uncooperative and did not provide any additional information about the suspect, Powell said. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Davis police at 530-747-5400.
