Police say an impaired driver was to blame for a hit-and-run crash that injured another motorist Wednesday evening.
James Sparks, 50, of Davis, was stopped by police shortly after 6 p.m. after allegedly committing a traffic offense in the 1100 block of J Street, Lt. Glenn Glasgow said. During the stop, the officer noted that Sparks’ vehicle appeared to have already been involved in an accident.
According to Glasgow, Sparks admitted to fleeing the scene after colliding with another car at East Covell Boulevard and Pole Line Road. He was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and hit and run, while the other driver was transported to Sutter Davis Hospital with moderate injuries.
