An interrupted car burglary led to the arrests of two men Wednesday morning, Davis police said.
The incident began at 5:20 a.m. with the report of the thwarted burglary in the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue. The suspects were gone by the time police arrived, but an officer spotted a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle a short time later on Highway 113, according to Lt. Glenn Glasgow.
The officer followed the car onto westbound Interstate 80 toward Solano County, determining along the way that it had been reported stolen out of Sacramento, Glasgow said.
Following a vehicle stop, police arrested David Castaneda, 34, of Woodland, and 20-year-old Roberto Villegas of Sacramento on drug-related charges. Castaneda faces an additional vehicle theft count.
