Authorities are on the scene of a train-versus-pedestrian collision in Dixon that left a woman dead Wednesday morning.
Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Tim McMahan said the eastbound Union Pacific freight train struck the adult female at about 6:50 a.m. in the area of Porter Road and Almond Street.
Both the Solano County Sheriff’s Department and an ambulance crew responded to the scene, where the woman succumbed to her injuries. Solano County coroner’s officials were expected to release her name once making positive identification.
The train crew was unhurt in the collision, McMahan said.
