A Davis man with more than a dozen pending court cases added another to the mix this week with his arrest on burglary and indecent-exposure charges, according to Woodland Police Department.

Jose Roberto Indalopez, 36, was taken into custody Tuesday morning following a series of events that began at about 6 a.m., when officers were dispatched to a 911 call of a man entering another person’s apartment on Elliot Street, Woodland police reported in a Facebook post.

“The victim was woken up by the sound of the suspect coming into his home, and when confronting the suspect and asking why he was there, the suspect tried to play it off by saying he was simply ‘looking for his wife,’ ” the post said.

That person — later identified as Indalopez — then left the apartment and was gone by the time officers arrived. “But that is not where this story ends,” police said.

Several hours later, police returned to the same apartment complex, this time “for a report of a man on the property that was only covered from the waist up, pleasuring himself,” the Facebook post said. “When officers arrived the suspect was gone once again, but a witness was able to give a description and tell the officers which way the suspect had gone.”

Police apprehended Indalopez behind a nearby market and booked him into the Yolo County Jail. He was due to appear Thursday in Yolo Superior Court, where online records show he has 15 active cases on charges including battery, assault on a peace officer, exhibiting a weapon, vandalism, resisting arrest, petty theft, vehicle theft, prowling, public intoxication and drug-related offenses.
