Davis police arrested two people Thursday after allegedly finding in possession of a stolen trailer, gun and drugs.

Deputy Police Chief Paul Doroshov said officers made contact with Maximiliano Silva and Amanda Steelepfleger at about 4 p.m. in the area of East Eighth Street and Pole Line Road. Both were believed to have traveled to Davis from the Bay Area.

Steelepfleger, 37, was driving a vehicle with an attached hydraulic dump trailer parked behind Grocery Outlet, while the 30-year-old Silva was at the wheel of a Lexus.

“Investigating officers subsequently discovered the trailer was stolen from San Joaquin County,” Doroshov said. “A more detailed search of the vehicles, with the assistance of the police K-9, yielded a semiautomatic AR-15 style pistol with a high-capacity magazine, and a usable amount of methamphetamine.”

According to Doroshov, the firearm was not registered and had no serial number. Silva, who allegedly had possession of the weapon, is legally prohibited from having firearms.

Officers booked the pair into the Yolo County Jail — Silva on drug and weapon charges, Steelepfleger on suspicion of receiving stolen property, Doroshov said.
