A Woodland man was arrested for allegedly evading a police officer Thursday after trying to outrun an officer on a marked police motorcycle, who was attempting to make a traffic stop at West Lincoln Avenue and West Street.
The driver, Timothy Bottorf, 48, refused to yield and began a pursuit, which ended at Mariposa Street and Bemmerly Way, a Woodland Police Department news release said.
Bottorf ran through traffic signals and reached speeds of 70 miles an hour, endangering the public, the release said.
Other patrol officers responded to assist the motorcycle officer and the suspect finally stopped and was taken into custody for felony evasion of a peace officer and other traffic offenses. Bottorf was booked in the Yolo County Jail.
