A motorist who died in a wrong-way collision Thursday in Yolo has been identified as Bashir Abdul Shetab, a 51-year-old Sacramento resident, Yolo County coroner’s officials said Monday.
Shetab was at the wheel of a vehicle traveling northbound on southbound Interstate 5 when it crashed on the Cache Creek Bridge and caught fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toxicology tests are pending to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the 2 a.m. collision, coroner’s officials said.
