Davis police arrested two men Friday morning after reportedly finding them in possession of drug paraphernalia and loaded handguns.

According to a department press release, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of 2901 Portage Bay West in response to a report of two men sleeping in a vehicle. The reporting party believed the subjects were under the influence of drugs and had also been harassing tenants, police said.

Officers detained the two men and searched their vehicle along with a Davis police K-9, Riggs, and reported seizing two loaded handguns — both men are convicted felons prohibiting them from having firearms, police said — as well as ammunition and drug paraphernalia.

Jeremiah James Alsop, 38, of Yolo County; and 50-year-old Gregory Miller of Idaho both were booked into the Yolo County Jail, where police said Alsop faces additional charges for outstanding arrest warrants and possessing heroin.
