Flames can be seen in the distance near English Hills Road as a fast-moving grass fire destroyed two homes and charred 65 acres in rural Vacaville on Saturday, the Vacaville Fire District reported. Firefighters from the Vacaville Fire Protection District, Vacaville City, Travis Air Force Base, Dixon, Winters, Suisun City, Suisun Fire Protection District, Montezuma Fire Protection District, Fairfield Fire and Cal Fire battled the blaze, which ignited at about 11 a.m. in the area of Estate Drive. By Saturday afternoon, the fire was 65-percent contained, Cal Fire reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
