UC Davis police issued a crime alert Thursday morning after three women reported being robbed and sexually battered by a suspect who remains at large.
The women were walking southbound on Dairy Road at the southeast corner of The Pavilion at about 2:10 a.m. when they encountered a man carrying what appeared to be a toy gun.
“The suspect asked the victims to do something, sexually battered two of the victims and took one victim’s cell phone,” which later was recovered, the crime alert said. The suspect did not make any verbal threats to harm the victims and did not point the toy gun at them.
The suspect was last seen running northbound toward the Activities and Recreation Center. He was described as a white male in his early 20s, 5-foot-9 with a skinny build, and short black hair that appeared be growing back from a shaved head.
He wore black jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt that was white with black sleeves, and carried a navy blue drawstring-type backpack. The weapon was described as a small, black, shiny handgun.
