On Friday a little after noon, the Woodland Police Department was alerted that a 2004 Toyota Scion had been stolen from the Walgreen’s Distribution Center on East Main Street. Sebastian Hoyle, 25, of West Sacramento was arrested shortly after.

The registered owner told police that the car had been turning southbound on to County Road 102. The dispatched Woodland officer began an area search, observing the vehicle just as it entered Interstate 5 (southbound). Assisting officers responded and coordinated help from the California Highway Patrol, Yolo County Sheriff’s Department and West Sacramento Police Department.

West Sacramento Police laid out a “spike-strip” traffic control device in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Riverbank Road. After two of the vehicle’s tires were disabled, it slowed to a stop in the area of Lisbon Avenue, where Hoyle surrendered without incident.

Hoyle had been released from the Yolo County Jail within the last 24 hours, where he had been previously booked on a misdemeanor warrant.
