A 29-year-old Davis man was killed early this morning in a vehicle crash on Interstate 80, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was traveling westbound on I-80 toward northbound Highway 113 at about 12:40 a.m. when for unknown reasons he drifted off the road and struck a tree with the driver’s side of the car, Officer Chris Parker said in a news release.
Parker said the man was wearing a seat belt and his vehicle’s air bag deployed, but he sustained fatal injuries from the crash impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
