A Yolo County jury has convicted a Winters man of molesting an 11-year-old girl, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Manuel Alejandro Guzman, 32, of Winters, was found guilty Monday of two counts of child molestation on the girl, the daughter of a woman he was dating, District Attorney Jeff Reisig said. Prosecutors alleged Guzman touched the girl’s genitals and made her touch his.
The molestation came to light when the girl’s mother found emails between Guzman and the girl discussing some of the acts he was doing to her, according to Reisig. Trial witnesses included a former girlfriend of Guzman’s who testified he raped her when she was 18 years old.
Guzman faces 10 years in state prison at his Aug. 12 sentencing hearing before Yolo Superior Court Judge Paul K. Richardson.
