Yolo County coroner’s officials have identified a 35-year-old Woodland man as the person whose body was found inside a vehicle at a used-car lot last week.
Eric Gakuya Kanyi’s date of death is listed as last Thursday, but police believe he had been inside the vehicle on the Woodland Auto Sales lot on East Main Street for several days before employees discovered him that morning.
His cause of death remains undetermined pending further testing, Chief Deputy Coroner Gina Moya said Monday.
Coroner’s officials also continue to seek out the family of another man who died last week along the railroad tracks behind the Davis Commons shopping center. Police have said he was a local transient.
Moya said the man’s name would not be released until his next of kin is notified, or the coroner’s office has exhausted all efforts to find family members.
