A Davis man was hospitalized with head injuries Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle in South Davis, police said.
Jesus Leyva, 53, was crossing Chiles Road near Mace Boulevard at about 5:10 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver had pulled out of the Taco Bell parking lot and was headed eastbound on Chiles, Davis police Lt. Ton Phan said.
Leyva was transported conscious and breathing to the UC Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries to his head, which hit the windshield of the car. Phan said multiple good Samaritans, including a nurse and an emergency medical technician, stopped to help at the collision scene.
