The woman struck and killed by an Amtrak passenger train east of Davis on Tuesday morning has been identified as Kristy Dawn Walker, 39, of West Sacramento, Yolo County coroner’s officials said.
An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine Walker’s cause and manner of death.
Yolo County sheriff’s officials said Walker was hit by a westbound Capitol Corridor train at about 4:50 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 105 and 32A, which is also a road crossing. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident impacted train travel through the area throughout the morning, with some trains delayed up to two hours while the investigation was underway at the scene, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
