A woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak passenger train east of Davis this morning, according to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Lance Faille said the westbound Captial Corridor train hit the woman at about 4:50 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 105 and 32A, which is also a road crossing. She was pronounced dead at the scene, her identity to be determined by the Yolo County coroner’s office.
The intersection’s crossing arms were down and warning lights were functioning at the time of the incident, Faille said.
Train travel had resumed slowly through the area as of about 8 a.m., and Faille said investigators were expected to clear the scene at about 9 a.m.
