A Yolo County jury has convicted an Oakland man of multiple weapon-related charges in connection with an investigation conducted by Davis police, District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced this week.

On Aug. 5, 2014, detectives searched 44-year-old Christopher Allen Jones’ residence as part of an investigation into a stolen motorcycle and reported finding an M-11 9mm assault rifle along with two high-capacity magazines.

A jury trial led to Jones’ Feb. 13 conviction on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an assault weapon, possession of high-capacity magazines and possession of ammunition as a felon, Reisig said in a news release. Jones was acquitted of charges related to the stolen motorcycle.

Jones, who also has a strike on his record for a prior assault conviction in Alameda County, is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. March 27 by Yolo Superior Court Judge Samuel McAdam.
