Woodland police reported Tuesday the kidnapping and attempted rape of a 15-year-old girl that occurred late last week.
Lt. Anthony Cucchi said the teen was walking in the area of East Gum Avenue and Kate Lane at about 7:20 a.m. Thursday when she was approached by a man who pulled her into a wooded area and tried to sexually assault her. She was able to break free and run to safety and reported no physical injuries.
Cucchi described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s, about 5-foot-5 with a stocky build, slicked-back brown hair, brown eyes and a thick brown mustache. He wore a green Oakland A’s baseball cap, red zip-up hooded sweatshirt over a black T-shirt, jeans with white paint spatter and black cowboy boots.
