WOODLAND — A Davis double-murder case remains on track to go to trial in mid-June, attorneys said during a brief court hearing Tuesday.

The defendant, Daniel William Marsh, will have turned 17 by the time the trial begins on June 16. He is being tried as an adult for the April 14, 2013, stabbing deaths of Oliver “Chip” Northup, 87, and his wife Claudia Maupin, 76, in their Cowell Boulevard condominium.

Marsh has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, which include two counts of first-degree murder with the special-circumstance allegations of multiple murders, lying in wait and torture.

Yolo Superior Court Judge David Reed scheduled a June 2 status conference for the attorneys, with a trial-readiness conference set for a week later. Marsh has been in Yolo County Juvenile Hall custody since his June 17 arrest last year.
