A Davis man already on probation for drunken driving racked up another DUI arrest Saturday morning after being caught speeding on Interstate 80, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Salvador A. Estrada, 36, was traveling in excess of 100 mph when an officer spotted him on eastbound I-80 near Reed Avenue in West Sacramento shortly after 3:30 a.m., CHP Officer Cindy Leal said. Before the officer could initiate a stop, Estrada reportedly veered out of his traffic lane and nearly collided with another car.
Leal said Estrada yielded to the officer near El Camino Avenue and was arrested after showing symptoms of alcohol intoxication. He was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of DUI, driving on a suspended license, violating his probation for a previous DUI, speeding, driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or higher and having a second DUI offense within 10 years.
