A 30-year-old man led Woodland police on a high-speed chase Thursday morning before crashing his car into a curb, officers said.
Sgt. Steve Sexton said the chase began when police attempted to stop Silverio Delgado Jr. in the area of Pioneer and Farnham avenues shortly before 11 a.m. Delgado allegedly failed to yield, instead heading south on Pioneer, then west on East Gum Avenue, at speeds up to 80 mph.
As backup officers responded, Delgado’s car struck a curb at Fourth Street and Gum Avenue, Sexton said. Delgado then allegedly ran from the car but was apprehended following a short foot chase.
Delgado, of Woodland, was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of evading and resisting arrest, as well as driving under the influence, Sexton said.
