Yolo County sheriff’s deputies’ contact with two men at the Cache Creek Casino Resort last week yielded a jackpot of a different kind, sheriff’s officials reported Monday.
The deputies were patrolling the south parking lot of the Brooks casino at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when he came upon two men in a stranded vehicle, sheriff’s spokesman Mark Persons said.
“During their contact, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana omitting from the vehicle,” a search of which revealed 16 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Persons said.
Cody Lee Shermantine, 22, of Citrus Heights; and 34-year-old Dylan Thomas Bacon of Kelseyville were lodged at the Yolo County Jail on various drug-related charges, Persons said.
