A July 31 preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Woodland resident charged with hit and run in connection with the June 30 death of a 58-year-old woman.
Kristal Ellen Sutton, 28, has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge, which stems from her encounter with Alisa Valerie Horner outside the 7-Eleven convenience store on East Main Street. Police say Sutton struck Horner with her Buick LeSabre and fled the scene, causing injuries that led to Horner’s death two days later.
Yolo Superior Court Judge Timothy Fall will preside over the hearing, which will determine whether there is sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial. Sutton remains free on bail.
