Shots rang out at least twice in Woodland this week, with several people being fired at during one of the incidents, police said.

The first occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday near Everman Memorial Park at Cottage and Sixth streets, according to Sgt. Dallas Hyde.

“Officers arrived on scene to discover that an unknown subject had exited the passenger side of a vehicle that stopped in front of a residence in the 1000 block of Sixth Street and fired several shots,” Hyde said. “The shots were in the direction of three subjects, one female and two males. Evidence of a shooting were located on scene, but only one of the victims remained on scene after the shooting.”

Two days later, at about 9 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to reports of shots fired at Fifth and North streets, arriving to find “evidence that a shooting occurred” including a bullet strike in a vehicle door 40 yards to the east, Hyde said. No injuries were reported.

Neither the suspects nor the motives for the crimes have been identified, Hyde said. Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact the Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411.
