A vehicle struck a house in West Davis early Friday morning, the driver reportedly fleeing the scene after causing damage to the residence.
The Hampton Drive house was unoccupied when the car, a four-door sedan, struck a pillar at the front of the structure at about 1:45 a.m., Davis Fire Department Capt. Roland Pussich said.
With no injuries to attend to, “we stabilized the house and turned off the plumbing,” Pussich said.
A witness reported seeing the driver, a white male in his teens with long brown hair, jeans and a red-and-white striped shirt, leave the scene on foot after the crash. He was last seen heading southbound on Arthur Street toward Russell Boulevard.
Davis police took a report on the incident and are working to identify the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
