Two vehicles collided head-on Saturday on Interstate 5 east of Woodland after one of them traveled the wrong way up a freeway offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP’s online traffic information page showed the collision occurring shortly after 1 p.m. on southbound I-5 near the County Road 22 offramp, where witnesses reported that a Mercedes sedan entered the freeway and traveled northbound in the center divider before crashing with a truck.
Only minor injuries were reported, and the roadway was reported cleared by about 3:30 p.m., the CHP reported. Officers are still investigating why the sedan driver entered the freeway from the wrong direction.
