Davis police arrested a Fairfield man Friday morning on suspicion of committing a home-invasion robbery on Drake Drive.
Police officials reported via social media that officers responded about 10:30 a.m. to the robbery call in the 1500 block of Drake Drive, where a female resident said she heard noises coming from an upstairs bedroom when she entered the home.
“Subsequently, the suspect came down the stairs and told the victim that he was armed with a gun (no gun was seen or displayed),” police said. “The suspect fled the residence and ran to an adjacent parking lot. There he dropped a bag which contained jewelry, computers, and other items taken from inside the victim’s residence.”
Responding officers conducted an area search and brief foot chase before arresting the suspect, identified as 33-year-old John Ferinand Scharff. He was booked into the Yolo County jail on home invasion charges, police said.
