Davis police arrested a 47-year-old man Saturday after he allegedly lunged at people with a knife during a reported domestic violence incident in the downtown area.
Deputy Police Chief Paul Doroshov have the following account:
At about 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of D and Fourth Streets in downtown Davis regarding a report of a possible domestic violence incident. Information from the initial reporting party indicated that a male subject was seen physically assaulting a female victim.
Upon arrival, officers received information suggesting the suspect had brandished and lunged at bystanders with a knife. No bystanders were stabbed or physically harmed.
Officers took Vincent Jiron of Davis into custody near the intersection of Second and and F streets. After the initial investigation the suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and possession of narcotics.
