The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning about a phone scam in which the caller claims to be an official from the Sheriff’s Office.
According to several citizens targeted by the scam, the caller claims the person has missed a jury-duty summons and threatens arrest if money is not paid.
“This is a SCAM,” sheriff’s officials posted on the agency’s Twitter page Tuesday. “The Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call in regards to jury duty or money owed.”
Anyone who has received this scam call is asked to report it to the Sheriff’s Office at 530-668-5280.
