Two suspects in a Colusa County bank robbery remain at large following a pursuit that ended in Yolo County, authorities said.

According to a news release from Colusa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matthew Purcell, the incident began at about 4:40 p.m. Friday with the armed robbery at Umpqua Bank in Arbuckle, where two masked suspects armed with handguns stole an undisclosed amount of money, then fled in a stolen Toyota pickup. No injuries were reported.

A Colusa County sheriff’s deputy pursued the vehicle into Yolo County, where one suspect fled on foot and the other suspect continued driving southbound. The second suspect abandoned the vehicle in an orchard south of County Road 2 and west of County Road 88, north of Dunnigan.

Colusa County sheriff’s offices, with assistance from the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, CHP, Williams and Woodland police departments, established a perimeter in the area and searched for the suspects by ground and air, but were unable to locate them, Purcell said. The FBI also is assisting in the follow-up investigation.

Purcell described the suspects as a heavyset male adult with a light complexion and a thinner male who was a dark-complected Hispanic or African-American adult. Both wore hoodie-style sweatshirts and had masks covering their faces during the robbery.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Colusa County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jose Ruiz or Detective Chris Doble at 530-458-0200.
