The Islamic Center of Davis has been burglarized for the second time in as many months, according to the Davis Police Department.
Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the break-in was discovered by a member of the mosque who arrived at the property at 539 Russell Blvd. about 9:20 a.m. Sunday to discover one of the doors ajar. Upon further investigation, it was determined that someone entered the building and took money from one of the donation boxes.
The burglary occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, Glasgow said. Anyone with information is asked to call Davis police at 530-747-5400.
Glasgow said it is unclear whether the incident is related to a Feb. 12 burglary in which someone stole money from donation boxes after entering through an unlocked window. That case remains under investigation.
