Yolo County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Calaveras County man Friday in connection with a homicide in rural Woodland.
Heder Miyoga, 33, is suspected of fatally stabbing 41-year-old Dustin Dougherty at a home in the 24000 block of County Road 95, where deputies were summoned to investigate the crime at about 12:40 a.m. Friday, Sgt. Matt Davis said.
Miyoga fled before authorities arrived but was located later in the day by Calaveras County sheriff’s deputies, who turned him over to Yolo sheriff’s detectives, according to Davis. He was expected to be booked into the Yolo County Jail on murder charges.
A motive for the incident remains under investigation, Davis said.
