Containment of a Winters-area wildfire grew to 75 percent Saturday night, though fire crews continued to battle high temperatures, erratic winds and steep terrain.
The blaze, which began Thursday afternoon near Highway 128 and Pleasant View Road, stood at 2,269 acres as of Saturday evening, with about 775 firefighting and law-enforcement personnel working the scene, Cal Fire officials reported.
A strike team from the Davis Fire Department remained assigned to the fire but was expected to be released Saturday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The incident at one point threatened two residential areas, Los Positos Estates and Golden Bear Estates, but evacuation orders for both have since been lifted.
Road closures in the area also were lifted as of 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
