Davis police arrested a Stockton man Thursday night following a car burglary at UC Davis.
The incident began at about 7:10 p.m. when campus police officers received a report of a car burglary in the north entry parking structure. A responding officer spotted the suspect vehicle as he drove to the scene and turned around to follow it, but lost the car around Miller Drive, UCD spokesman Andy Fell said.
A short time later, the same vehicle was involved in a pair of collisions in the 200 block of East Eighth Street, hitting one car and causing minor injuries to the other driver, and then driving into the front yard of a residence where it damaged landscaping and struck a parked truck, Davis police Lt. Tom Waltz said.
The occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the scene but were apprehended on Ninth Street after Davis police set up a perimeter in the neighborhood, Waltz said. Demari Taylor, 20, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run, while his passenger was released from custody.
