A 29-year-old Sacramento man was convicted of robbery Monday for an incident that occurred at the Davis Target store in April 2016, Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced.

Prosecutors said Adam Nersesyan concealed about $780 worth various fragrances inside a stolen cooler and left the Second Street store, threatening a loss prevention officer as he fled to a waiting getaway car. A witness noticed the incident and took a photo of the suspect’s car, which police used to track down the owner.

The driver admitted to picking up Nersesyan, who attempted to blame his cousin for the crime even though the cousin has a distinctive tattoo on his face that was not visible in surveillance video of the robbery, Reisig said.

Nersesyan faces up to six years in prison at his May 26 sentencing hearing before Yolo Superior Court Judge David Rosenberg, who presided over the trial.
