A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrests of three men late Friday night, Davis police said.
Sgt. Rod Rifredi said police pulled over the trio’s vehicle in the 2100 block of Fifth Street shortly before midnight for a vehicle code violation. As the officer approached the car, one of its occupants was seen throwing a semiautomatic handgun out the window.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed the men were in possession of methamphetamine, Rifredi said.
Mohammed Samir Abughannam, 31, of Sacramento; and Winters residents John Clayton Dunham, 59; and Armida Contreras, 53; were arrested on drug-related charges, while Dunham and Contreras face additional counts of being felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
