WOODLAND — A Shingle Springs man has agreed to serve just over three years in prison for his role in several residential burglaries in Davis last year.
Kyle Kennedy Frank, 37, pleaded no contest Wednesday to three counts of first-degree burglary in exchange for a three-year, four-month state prison sentence, Yolo Superior Court officials said. His sentencing is scheduled for March 7 before Judge David Reed.
A fourth burglary count charged in a separate case was dismissed on a Harvey waiver, meaning it still could be considered in his sentencing.
Prosecutors alleged Frank broke into homes on Albany Avenue, Campanilla Court, Decatur Court and Layton Drive during a rash of residential break-ins that occurred early last year. Two of the homes were occupied at the time, one of them by a 12-year-old boy whose 911 call to police led to Frank’s March 29, 2012, arrest.
Frank’s attorney, Steve Sabbadini, has said his client was addicted to prescription drugs and would burglarize the homes to satisfy his addiction. Police said he would knock on doors or ring doorbells, and, if no one answered, make his way into the homes.
