Davis police cited a 15-year-old boy Monday for allegedly brandishing an imitation weapon at another teen and his mother.
Deputy Police Chief David Delaini said the incident occurred June 20 in the parking lot of The Marketplace shopping center in West Davis. As he approached the other boy and his mother, the 15-year-old reportedly threatened the pair and lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband.
The incident was reported to police, who on Monday conducted a search at the suspect’s residence and discovered that the alleged weapon was a BB gun, Delaini said. Officers cited the boy and released him to parental custody.
