A Woodland resident and volunteer firefighter is facing allegations that he molested two young children for nearly nine years.

Xavier Marcia Mancilla, 64, pleaded not guilty Friday to an amended criminal complaint charging him with 34 counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under age 14 and sexual acts with a child under 10. A case enhancement accuses him of committing an offense against more than one victim.

He is in Yolo County Jail custody in lieu of $10 million bail, a preliminary hearing in his case scheduled for March 15 in Yolo Superior Court.

His attorney, Deputy Public Defender Andrea Pelochino, could not be reached for comment.

Woodland police arrested Mancilla on Jan. 20. At the time, he was serving as a volunteer firefighter for the Yolo Fire Department.

The 13-page complaint alleges that Mancilla molested one child, who is now 10 years old, on six occasions between October 2014 and January 2016.

A second child is the subject of another 28 charges, which allege conduct that occurred between March 2007 and March 2014.

His relationship to the two alleged victims was not disclosed.
