The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of thefts and vandalisms that occurred last week outside of Davis.
Sheriff’s officials said the thieves forced entry into mailbox clusters Wednesday and Thursday evening in rural neighborhoods in the 25000 block of County Road 95 and on Fairway Drive near County Road 29. In both incidents, locked mailboxes were forced open, resulting in extensive damage to the boxes and an unknown amount of mail being stolen.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to be vigilant about promptly collecting delivered mail. Any suspicious vehicles and/or circumstances should be reported to dispatch at 530-666-8282.
