Davis police are investigating series of recent robberies — two of them on Halloween — in which the suspects targeted the victims for their cell phones.
The first occurred at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday on Lake Boulevard near Arlington Boulevard, where the male victim reported being robbed of his cell phone and dragged by the vehicle, a white Cadillac two-door coupe last seen headed toward Highway 113. The suspect was described as a black male in his late teens wearing a red shirt.
Less than five hours later, at about 8:30 p.m., a man standing at the bus stop next to Carl’s Jr. on East Covell Boulevard reported being assaulted and robbed of his cell phone and headphones by a black male wearing a mask and large diamond stud earrings, police said. The suspect fled the parking lot in a dark-colored hatchback vehicle.
At about 5 p.m. Monday, a 13-year-old boy was pushed and robbed of his cell phone by a passenger in a tan Cadillac that had pulled up next to the teen in the 4500 block of Alhambra Drive. The car’s three occupants were described as white males around 20 years old, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and caps.
Police also are investigating earlier cell-phone robberies that occurred Oct. 6 on Oceano Way in Mace Ranch and Oct. 12 on Valdora Street in South Davis.
Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
