Two men face criminal charges after allegedly taking a stolen car on a spin through Davis, police reported Monday.
According to Lt. Art Camacho, an officer patrolling the 900 block of West Olive Drive last Thursday morning stopped the car for having no license plates. Both occupants were on probation, and a subsequent investigation revealed the car allegedly was taken from its Citrus Heights owner the night before.
Jason Michael Slater, 34, of Auburn; and Mathew Patrick Martin, 26, of Citrus Heights; were jailed on charges including vehicle theft, receiving stolen property and drug possession, Camacho said. Slater also was booked on counts of impaired driving and driving with a suspended license.
