Davis police arrested a man on suspicion of arson last week, with the help of a few clues from the suspect himself.
Lt. Art Camacho said officers were dispatched at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 1000 block of Olive Drive, near the Richards Boulevard underpass, after receiving “a call of a male transient lighting dry vegetation on fire.”
Arriving officers found the man still on scene, standing amid a “freshly burned area” with a lighter and butane canister in his hands, Camacho said.
Based on those details, police arrested 39-year-old Adam Robin Green on charges of arson and resisting arrest, the latter stemming from Green’s alleged threats of physical harm to the officers while being taken into custody, according to Camacho.
