A T-Mobile Wireless employees tackled an alleged robber to the ground after an attempted robbery at 2 p.m. Friday at their store on 110 F St.
The alleged robber cut the cord to an iPhone on display and fled the store when an employee ran after him, tackled him to the ground and retrieved the iPhone, said Sgt. James MacNiven of the Davis Police.
The alleged robber — a white male in his 30s wearing blue and green pajamas — then fled the scene in a champagne colored Chevrolet sedan that was giving off thick exhaust fumes, MacNiven said.
During a second robbery last Friday, a Davis man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint at 6 p.m. near Playfield’s Park on Research Park Drive. The man was approached by a hispanic male in his 20s wearing a plaid orange button-up shirt when the suspect pointed a black pistol at the man. The alleged robber took the victim’s iPhone and headphones and left the scene in a black SUV with unknown plates.
