A fire that started on the back patio of a Colby Drive home Saturday afternoon and spread to the house’s attic and roof displaced two residents and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.
Davis Fire Department Division Chief Paul Swanson said both city of Davis and UC Davis firefighters responded to the report of a patio fire in the 1100 block of Colby Drive at 4:47 p.m. Saturday, and by the time firefighters arrived, the fire had spread to the attic.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 5:37 p.m., Swanson said, and both residents, who were at home when the fire started, were uninjured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Swanson said.
