California Highway Patrol officers are seeking a motorist who crashed into the rear of a big-rig between Davis and West Sacramento early this morning, then ditched the car and left the scene.
The rear-end collision occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 at the Yolo Causeway, where the front end of the vehicle became wedged underneath the trailer of a UPS truck.
Before anyone could summon help, however, a second motorist arrived on scene, removed the other driver from the wreckage and drove away, according to the CHP. It was not immediately clear whether the driver who hit the big rig was injured.
The UPS driver was not hurt, officers said.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol’s Woodland office at 530-662-4685.
