Davis firefighters responded to two nearly simultaneous injury accidents Saturday afternoon, one involving three vehicles on Interstate 80 near Richards Boulevard and the other occurring near the intersection of Drummond Avenue and Cowell Boulevard in South Davis.
Acting Davis Fire Capt. Brian Farid said the first accident occurred after 3 p.m. when a driver on I-80 apparently crossed freeway lanes and clipped the back of another car, which then spun out. A third car was struck as well.
Farid said two people suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital.
One rescue officer responding to the freeway accident scene then was called to the accident scene at Drummond and Cowell, a two-car collision that required extrication of a person with major injuries, Farid said. He had no additional details on the second crash.
