Davis police said a man tried to rob a West Davis convenience store early Wednesday morning but walked away empty-handed.
The incident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. at the Circle K, 1930 Lake Blvd., where the suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded money from the clerk, who was unable to open the cash register.
So the robber called it a day, leaving on foot southbound on Lake Boulevard. He was described as a black male in his early 20s with a thin build, wearing black clothing, a black beanie and red or orange shoes, police said.
